Road-Ready Guide

An RV owner completing a pre-drive interior cabinet check

The MileHearth pre-drive cabin check

Before moving your RV, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your vehicle and installed equipment. This general organization checklist does not replace an RV-specific safety inspection.

  1. Check that cabinet and refrigerator doors are fully closed.
  2. Move heavy or breakable items to appropriate low storage.
  3. Confirm loose countertop and bathroom items are put away.
  4. Separate items that may knock or rub during travel.
  5. Check drawers, pantry bins, and under-sink storage.
  6. Walk through the cabin once more before departure.

Always complete the mechanical, utility, hitch, tire, weight, and exterior checks required for your RV separately.
